LABOUR MARKET IMPACT ASSESSMENT (LMIA) & WORK PERMIT CANADA

An LMIA may be required when a Canadian employer wants to hire a foreign worker. If a positive LMIA is issued, it can be used to support the worker's application for an employer-specific work permit.

Not all work permits require an LMIA, and eligibility depends on the worker's circumstances and the position being offered.

EXPRESS ENTRY - IMMIGRATE TO CANADA

Express Entry is Canada’s online system for managing applications for permanent residence under several federal economic immigration programs. Candidates are ranked based on factors such as age, education, language ability, and work experience.

Eligibility and competitiveness depend on your individual profile and the type of invitation round being conducted.

PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM (PNP) CANADA

Canada's provinces and territories operate Provincial Nominee Programs to select candidates who meet their economic and labour market needs. Requirements vary by province, territory, and stream.

Some PNP pathways are linked to Express Entry, while others follow a separate application process. An Express Entry-linked provincial nomination adds 600 CRS points.

PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS (PGP) SPONSORSHIP TO CANADA AND SUPER VISA

The PGP allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their parents and grandparents for permanent residence in Canada. New PGP intake is currently paused.

The Super Visa allows parents and grandparents to visit Canada for extended stays of up to five years at a time, with multiple entries for up to 10 years.

CANADA FAMILY SPONSORSHIP

Eligible Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor a spouse, common-law or conjugal partner, or dependent child for permanent residence in Canada. Both the sponsor and the sponsored person must meet the applicable requirements.

Sponsors are also required to sign an undertaking to support the family member they are sponsoring for a specified period.

CANADA STUDY PERMIT AND

POST-GRADUATION WORK PERMIT

A Study Permit allows eligible international students to study at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada. Students who meet the requirements may also be permitted to work while studying.

After graduation, eligible students may qualify for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), which can allow them to gain Canadian work experience. PGWP eligibility and length depend on factors including the program and current immigration requirements.
