ONTARIO IMMIGRANT NOMINEE PROGRAM (OINP) EMPLOYER JOB OFFER: INTERNATIONAL STUDENT STREAM

On August 19, 2020, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) will accept applications between 9:00 a.m. EST and 5:00 p.m. EST to the Employer Job Offer: International Student stream.
To register, applicants are able to access the OINP e-filing portal directly from the Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream link on the OINP website. Those who successfully register have 14 days to submit completed applications.
WHAT IS THE OINP EMPLOYER JOB OFFER: INTERNATIONAL STUDENT STREAM?
The Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream is an immigration stream under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee program. Students with a job offer in a skilled occupation at Type Skill O or A or B of the National Occupation Classification (NOC), have a chance to apply to permanent live and work in Ontario. This stream is open to international students in and outside of Canada.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
JOB OFFER REQUIREMENTS:
- full-time and permanent (minimum of 1,560 hours a year and a minimum of 30 hours of paid work per week)
- job must have no end date. Seasonal or contractual jobs are ineligible
- job offer must be effective the date the nomination takes place
Eligible occupation:
skill Type O or A or B (NOC)
Low wage level:
wage must meet or be higher than the low wage level for the occupation in the specific region of Ontario where work will be taking pace.
Position is necessary to employer's business
job offer must align with employer's existing business activities and the position must be needed to maintain or grow ongoing business activity
Work is based in Ontario
The total amount of equity held by applicant and family members cannot exceed or have exceeded 10%
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- a two year degree or diploma from an eligible Canadian institution (if studied full time) or a degree, diploma or certificate that takes at least one year to complete if studied on a full-time basis and requires a completed degree as an admission requirement
- More than half of studies must be completed while living and studying in Canada
Valid license or other authorization (if applicable):
If job offer is for an occupation that requires a mandatory license or other authorization in Ontario, a valid license or authorization from the appropriate regulatory body in Ontario is required.
Intention to live in Ontario
Must intend to live in Ontario after permanent residence has been granted, e.g.:
- working or interviewing for jobs
- studying
- volunteering
- leasing or owning property
- visiting
- having professional networks and affiliations, family ties and personal relationships
Legal status in Canada
- a visitor record
- study permit
- work permit
- application on implied status at the time of the application is allowed. Working or studying in Canada under the same conditions as current existing permit is allowed until a decision is made
Application period
- application must be submitted within two years of completing the requirements necessary to obtain the degree, diploma or certificate.
- If an education credential is not available, date on the official letter from the college or university stating when the education credential will be received is granted.
EMPLOYER REQUIREMENTS
General Requirements
- active in business for a minimum of three years prior to application submission
- have a business in Ontario where work will be performed
- have no outstanding orders under the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 or the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Revenue Requirements
Employer's business must meet the following requirements for the most recently, completed fiscal year (year used for tax or accounting purposes):
- minimum of $1,000,000 in total gross annual revenue if working in the Greater Toronto Area (City of Toronto, Durham, Halton, York and Peel regions) or
- a minimum of $500,000 in total gross annual revenue if working outside the Greater Toronto Area
Meaning of report to work
If working in more than one location, the
- location where the applicant's immediate supervisor or manager works or
- the location of the administrative office where the applicant will receive work assignments.
Full-time Employee Requirements
- have a minimum of five full-time employees who are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents who work at the location where work will be performed or will report to work if working at a location in the Greater Toronto Area or
- have a minimum of three full-time employees who are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents who work where work will be performed or will report to work outside the Greater Toronto Area.
- a full time employee is defined as working a minimum of 30 hours of work per week.
