The NOC system is Canada’s national system to classify an applicant’s job to determine their eligibility for Canadian immigration programs. The system breaks down all occupations into codes. Codes are then grouped together based on the type of work, and the job duties that the person does. Candidates must select the NOC code that best matches their job.
The New Change to the NOC system
As of November 16, 2022, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) migrated to the NOC 2021 version 1.0 where current skill types, 0, A or B are replaced by the Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities (TEER) categories. Jobs are grouped into the TEER categories based on the type of job duties and the work conducted.

The Super Visa provides parents and grandparents more time in Canada and does not require renewal upon re-entry into the country until the validity period has passed. As of July 4, 2022, Super Visa holders can now stay in Canada for five…

The intra-company category permits international companies to temporarily transfer qualified employees to Canada. Qualified intra-company transferees require work permits and are exempted from the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) as they provide significant economic benefit to Canada through the transfer of their expertise to Canadian businesses. The Canadian and foreign enterprises must be legal entities that have a parent, subsidiary, branch or affiliate business relationship. Both the Canadian and foreign companies must be or will be doing business. A qualifying relationship remains if the Canadian and foreign entities continue to meet the definition of parent, subsidiary, affiliated or branch companies. If the entities no longer meet the…
